What people are shouting
I have been learning how to work with herbs lately…I made sacristains, using rosemary and thyme. Posted the recipe on my page. -Charlotte
I’m guessing that, despite your name, you are not vegetarian then? Might I point you to some suggestions: an alternative for the pork chops would be Pork Chops in Bourbon, Cherry-Pomegranate Sauce; still with pork, the Slow roasted pork shoulder is sensational; or my trusted favourite on the grill, Summer flank steak.
Charlotte you’re back! Missed the updates on your baking. Have anything new?
Umh, what for dinner today? I’m thinking about some grill lemongrass porkchop.
Our Green Kitchen — I love your name. Do you have any advice for those of us striving to green our kitchens? Enquiring greens want to know.
Aaaah… an ice cold beer before dinner on a hot day.
Makes me come over all John Mills.
I cooked a carbonara for lunch today. Foolishly, I used fresh spaghetti. It just doesn’t work with the fancy stuff.
A good friend and a great chef made a large batch of chicken wings for a potluck yesterday. When they were done, she put them on the kitchen counter and jumped in the shower. When she came out a short time later most of the wings were gone. While she was in the shower somebody smelled the wings, came into her house and helped themselves. Nothing else was missing.
FYI — I have an alibi. I was on the other side of town!
I was given rice… it had been microwaved in a bag. Then I had a slice of pre-made apple pie, microwaved, served with cream. Then I was offered a lump of dark chocolate sandwiched between two rich tea biscuits. I enjoyed the whole experience.
I need to be flogged or something.
Spent the evening at the Taste of London show in Regent’s Park. Those guys know how to make money. They charge the exhibitors for their stands, then they tell them that they have to use a token system for their sales which they take a huge commission on! Oh, and they charge the punters for entry too.
Still, I bought some tasty stuff, made some good contacts and have some great recommendations to publish… watch this space.
